Bureau Report: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has officially announced the dates for the State Service Main Examination 2025, bringing immense relief to thousands of waiting candidates. The official notification was issued on Friday, just one day after the Jabalpur High Court lifted the interim stay on the examination process. According to the newly released schedule, the highly anticipated Main exams will be conducted over a six-day period, running from August 17 to August 22, 2025.

Application Timeline and Examination Centers

With the legal hurdles cleared, the Commission is moving swiftly to commence the registration process next week. Qualified candidates must carefully note the following key details regarding the application and examination logistics:

  • Registration Window: Successful Preliminary exam candidates can submit their Main exam applications online between June 25 and July 15. Late fees will apply for submissions made after the deadline.
  • Application Fees: The registration fee is fixed at Rs. 400 for domicile residents of Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 800 for candidates from other states.
  • Admit Cards: Candidates will be able to download their official admit cards starting August 10.
  • Exam Venues: The exams will be held across 12 designated district centers in the state, including Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Ratlam, Satna, Sagar, Shahdol, Barwani, Ujjain, and Balaghat.

Examination Schedule and Legal Background

The Commission has structured the examination to take place in a single morning shift, running daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Candidates are strictly advised to reach their respective centers at least one hour prior to the commencement of the exam. The subject schedule is arranged as follows: General Studies Papers I, II, III, and IV will be held consecutively from August 17 to 20. The General Hindi and Grammar paper is scheduled for August 21, concluding with the Hindi Essay paper on August 22.

The recent High Court ruling brings an end to a lengthy legal battle that delayed the examination process for over a year. The Commission originally declared the Preliminary Examination 2025 results on March 5, 2025. However, the process was abruptly halted when candidates filed petitions in the Jabalpur High Court. The litigation primarily challenged the Commission's failure to release category-wise cutoff marks and the alleged denial of unreserved posts to meritorious students from reserved categories. After a grueling wait of 15 months, the court's decision to lift the stay has finally paved the way for the recruitment process to resume.
